Chest closure set for 8 am tomorrow!

It's official: Isaac's chest will be closed up tomorrow morning at 8a! Everyone has commented on how well he is recovering from the Norwood, with one nurse saying he is the perfect Norwood case. God certainly has His hand on our boy! Even the doctors & nurses are taking note of it. To God be the glory for the great things He has done & continues to do!!! If everything continues to go smoothly & no further complications arise, we may be able to bring our boy home in the next 2-3 weeks! What a joy that would be!

Dr. Mill is thrilled with Isaac's progress. The O.R. was slammed with multiple surgeries today & would not have been able to see Isaac until 5 or 6 tonight. Wanting to have his "A" Team fully rested & present, he has decided to schedule the closure for first thing tomorrow morning. The procedure will occur in Isaac's PICU room & will take approximately 2.5 hours. We have been truly touched by Dr. Mill's genuine compassion & care for our son, wanting the very best for him. What a blessing! We praise God for bringing Dr. Mill into our lives & care for Isaac. We could not hope for more in the surgeon for our son.

I'm so grateful for the Lord's peace through this process. While watching his ventilator tape getting refreshed, I was overwhelmed with the desire to hold Isaac & be able to take him home. This certainly is a race of perseverance. How true God's Word is - that He will go with us through the fire & never give us more than we can bear. His Holy Spirit remains faithful to bring truth from Scripture to our minds when we need it most. What a friend we have in Jesus. In this world, we will have trouble. But we need not fear! He has overcome the world! (John 16.33)

Thank you all for your prayers on our behalf, for your reminders of the truth of Scripture, & for your friendship. Our family has truly been blessed by you all!

This is WONDERFUL news. I can't wait until you can hold him either! This blog has made me feel as though I were there with you all. God's little miracle is going to go home with you soon. He has truly given you a GREAT responsibility in caring for what He has created through you and Jordan! Just as a bumblebee flies with imperfect wings, your little Isaac is living and breathing with a repaired heart that only God can hold together. No number of stitches can come even close to doing the job that God has done of healing your precious little baby. To GOD be the GLORY!!!

Your faith is such an inspiration to us all. We are still praying daily for all of you. Even our 2-year-old has gotten into the game. His prayer is simply, "Thank you, God for making that baby better." We'll be sure to pray for you all during tomorrow's surgery.

Although we've never met, I work with Kim and feel that I have come to know the entire family through her. I have followed the progression of your pregnancy, Isaac's birth and all of your updates, keeping you in our thoughts and prayers daily. My heart goes out to you both. You are amazing in your strength and faith and are a true testimony for those who would otherwise choose to give up so easily.
May God continue to work his healing hands on your precious gift from heaven and know that He is always with you.
God's Blessings to you and your family always, and our prayers of complete and speedy healing for baby Isaac.
Love,
Jacque' Ballans

God has certainly sent you a beautiful angel. It is so overwhelming to see the miracles only God can do. There is no feeling in the world like seeing the baby God created with you and for you. He knows how special and strong you both are and He picked you to care for baby Isaac. How special! I feel God's presence as I send this message and know He will answer your prayers because you are such faithful servants.
May Isaac be a light to shine God's love on the world and help spread the message of His miracles.
God Bless!
