Thank you all for joining us in prayer & fasting for our sweet boy yesterday. For the first time in a long while, no new problems arose yesterday! Still critically stable, Isaac was able to rest without too many interuptions & was very interactive during his awake moments. He loves to reach his left arm up & grasp the air with his precious hand. He has quite a strong grip! He slept well through the night with no complications & has been quite relaxed so far today. Several people who cared for him through the weekend's difficult events were back today, all thrilled & amazed to see Isaac still here. We've been so fortunate to not only have excellent medical care for our sweet boy here at UNC, but to have developed friendships with those who have cared for him. We remain deeply grateful for the care & compassion they have demonstrated towards our son.

At this point, our greatest concerns remain with Isaac's gut issues. After two sonograms, we're still unable to tell if eschemia or necrosis has occurred in the bowel. He continues to retain fluid around his belly for unknown reasons. Two options for figuring out what is truly happening in his gut are a CT scan or exploratory surgery. The CT scan is the prefered route. However, the medical team has concerns for Isaac's kidney tolerance for the oral & IV contrast necessary for the scan to be effective.

Isaac remains the enigma of the PICU. Our prayer is for the fluid surrounding his belly to go down & for a successful CT scan. We are so grateful for each day with our sweet boy. God has truly blessed us more than we could have fathomed through this journey. How faithful He is!

You two have shown an incredible example of the unwavering faith we should all be strong enough to have. God has been exalted through you and for that you will be blessed! Though the trials you face seem almost unbearable and Isaac's situation is solemn, healing Isaac is well within God's capabilities. You truly have the fortitude of Job. You have touched so many by simply loving your son as Christ loves each of us. Thank you for who you are and the light you shed. We are all so proud of you. Our family, Bible Study, and small group pray for you constantly. May the Lord bless you with steadfast faith, may He sooth your hearts and strengthen your marriage.

Patience and Jordan -
I got an email through my work email account with Isaac's name and a request for prayers. I work with Pam Doak, who I believe attends your church. I too have a child in the PICU right now. We are at DUKE and facing some similar challanges. I have read a lot of your blog posts and want you to know that we too believe in the power of healing and prayer. I will light a candle for Isaac tonight at my church chapel (We go every night on our way home from the hospital) and every night until I hear of his healing. If you ever would like to talk about PICU life, feel free to call me. I am at the hospital with my cell phone all day and into the night. PJ is 4 months old, but has been admitted for 7 weeks.

May God bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you.

Thank you God for continuing to sustain little Isaac.

I know that the Lord is fully in control of this situation, but that being said, I must say that this little guy is a fighter! I believe that God has given him an extra measure of endurance. I pray that this is because he will use his tremendous strength and will for the glory of God here on earth for many years to come.

Our prayers are still with you all.

Praise God Almighty! He is SOOOOOOOO good. Was at church tonite (First Wednesday - woo hoo)and during Praise & worship, a voice just came & told me that all was well with Isaac today and that by his being God's child, Isaac will always be taken care of. THen I get home, immediately log on & get this wonderful update. I continually look @ the pic of daddy & baby -- something there that just captivates me set aside from medical/earthly father. Its like seeing God's glow on Isaac and they way God is keeping him in His arms as Isaac and daddy share a special moment that will forever be treasured. Its just overwhelmingly amazing the way God is working and bringing lost people in after keeping up with Isaac. And then for those who are believers, the faith that is continually growing by witnessing the path with God you all are on. My prayers for your continuance of strength&peace and Isaac's healing will not lessen or waiver until this has been overcome thru the GLory of God and His healing.
Y'all keep strong, get rest & as I know you are & will do, keep praising God -- everything's going to be fine. Sis in Christ and thankful to all 3 of you.

Yes - Praise God that He is faithful. But just as important in this situation, Praise God that you have been faithful to Him.

As I think of the record of Job, it is amazing to me that he never, ever gave up on God. This despite overwhelming obstacles and many well-meaning, but misguided, counselors. Jordan & Patience, I beleive that you are demonstrating to the world that the record of Job was real, and that God CAN be trusted when nothing else can. You are living out a present-day presentation of God's faithfulness.

Remember that when all was said and done, God restored to Job DOUBLE what he had before his struggles started.

God did it then, and He can do it again!

We will keep lifting all three of you up in prayer.

It is good to hear that Isaac is getting much needed rest, and is able to spend some quality time with you during the day. The picture of Jordan and Isaac is awesome allowing for some quality father/son bonding!! I believe that the rest that Isaac has been able to enjoy recently will give him the strength he needs to get through the much needed tests and scans.

Your faith reminds me of Romans 5:1-5
We have been made right with God because of our faith. So we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through our faith, Christ has brought us into that blessing of God's grace that we now enjoy. And we are happy because of the hope we have of sharing God's glory. And we also have joy with our troubles because we know that these troubles produce patience. And patience produces character, and character produces hope. And this hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. God gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us.

I pray that through our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, God continues to make improvements with Isaac and reduces the swelling around his gut, continues to keep his various levels in the safe zone, and heals any problems so that the recovery process can begin. I pray for continued peace for the two of you and rest for you all as the past month has been a marathon for you guys, but you are running a good race with faith like the Giants of the Bible that Matt preached about a few months ago.

Continue to keep the faith, and I will continue to pray.

May God continue to Bless you all.
Al B.

Heavenly Father,

We thank you and praise you that you hear our prayers and are answering them with a "yes". We continue to pray for the swelling to go down in his gut so that the doctors can find out what is causing so many issues. We also ask for your complete and miraculous healing of Baby Isaac. We know you can. So many people live their entire life and never see a truly miraculous healing. I pray you will allow us to see this and for you to get all the glory.

Give Jordan and Patience the strength, rest, and health they need to finish this race. I praise you so much, Lord, for them and for sharing their lives with us.

"Praise God From Whom ALL Blessings Flow. Praise Him ALL Creaters Here Below."
That is what flows from my heart after reading this update. Not only was the day of fasting and prayer blessed by God, it resulted in the fruit we have all wanted to hear...a restful day and night for our sweet Isaac.
Our God is truly amazing and so awesome.
Thank you for your updates and the opportunity to be a part of this journey with you. God is using the Internet to keep us all connected with you three all around the world and the enemy is once again defeated.
I will continue to fast and pray that the fluid around Isaac's belly will go away and that the CT scan will have no complications and good results. I pray it will be clear is showing the dr's what is going on but I also know that God loves to be working where we can't see so that we can KNOW only He could have done it.
Praying for you rest and strength for today.

I wanted to pass this on to you Leino's

Psalm 91 is an awesome psalm of protection for baby Isaac. It says, "He shall cover you with His feathers and under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day.... a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand;
but it shall not come near you.' (Ps 91:4-5)

God is so faithful, so be encouraged! He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.' (Eph 3:20)
We will continue to pray for Isaac!

When we found out that our child was going to have health problems, a prayer request went out. Patience' mother sent me a link to your blog. My wife and I have been following your posts and praying daily for your little angel. I am in New Jersey just to give you an idea of how prayers for your child have spread like wild fire. We will continue to pray for all of you. Your family is an inspiration; mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Patience and Jordan, I was sitting on my back porch during the thunderstorm we had the other night. I was praying for Isaac and reading, when some notes from a previous sermon fell out of my bible. I forget who the speaker was, but my notes said "Jonah was not moving, but God was". That is so relevant to Isaac! God IS MOVING, although sometimes in the literal it doesn't seem like it. So Praise God TODAY in THIS MOMENT that He is moving whether we see it or not!!! Thank you Jesus~

God has done and is yet still doing marvelous and miraculous things in and through Isaac. We may have questions about why he is having to endure this ordeal, but at least one question has been answered. The way people are being drawn together by Isaac's situation and by Jordan's and Patience's faithfulness, is nothing short of supernatural ~ a movement of the Holy Spirit in people to bear one another's burdens. Isaac has a ministry because of the way his parents are responding. They, through their messages on the blog, are calling people to Christ ~ causing mature Christians to draw closer to Him, showing new Christians how to live a life pleasing to Him, and witnessing to those who do not know Christ. I am so sorry that the three of them are suffering and having to labor over this so hard. But it is a fulfillment of the scripture:
"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
Romans 8:28
Jordan and Patience, while your hearts are heavy and you are so very tired, at least know that much good has come from this. We are fighting for you in prayer and fasting. You are loved by so many people. God bless you today with more good news about Isaac's condition, and with peace, comfort and rest.
Love,
Patty Honeycutt

Everyday I pray for little Isaac. I try and pray whatever I feel the Holy Spirit leading me to pray for.

Yesterday I went to exercise at Ram's Head on the campus of UNC. It is located right next door to the hospital...just around the corner.

It was about 6:30 in the evening, and there is a window that I can see the roof of the hospital from where i workout. The sun was just setting over it, but it was extremely brilliant. In this moment I felt God in a way that I never have as I stared at this awesome sight.

Isaac is so small, and delicate right now as far human standards go. However, I truly believe that the heavens have opened up wide for him beyond comprehension. Isaac has brought me back to the very feet of the creator of the universe, and I have never felt closer to Christ than I was in that moment looking out that window.

Isaac has only been on this world for weeks, but God has moved so mightily through him and through you guys. I feel the remnant of prayers that have been offered for him, and I am so honored and blessed to take part in it.

I thank God so much for Isaac, and for the example that you guys have shown. It has humbled me, and broken my heart to feel the power of God that has flown out of this little wonder. It just amazes me how God has used this precious little one to bring so many people to Him.

These lyrics are special to me, and I listened to this as I prayed this morning for Isaac...

Terry Clark
I Am Yours

Lord, make me a vessel
Of your Word and your will
Speak your words through these lips
Your own Words of Life
Let them heal the broken-hearted

Lord, make me a servant
I'll wait on you hand and foot
Draw me close, let me know you
Let me touch your Heart
Let me be your prize creation

Chorus
I am yours, I am yours
I've been bought with Life so precious
I am new
I'm brand new in you, my Jesus
I am yours, Yes, I'm yours
You hold all my life in your hand
And when I hear your Spirit calling me
I'll follow
Yes, I'll follow
Because I am yours

Lord, fill me with your Spirit
Baptize me in your love
Take the Fire from the altar
Let it touch my lips
And consume the darkness around me

As I read the responses of God's people, tears form in my eyes. The love that has poured forth from Christians across the country, and other countries, is astounding. It makes me realize all the more just how blessed we are to have Christ as the center of our lives. It has also caused me to fall in love with God more deeply.

To all the brothers and sisters in Christ who have followed this blog faithfully, thank you. Your deep devotion and love for this child and his parents has also caused others to draw closer to God.

This goes to show just how powerful we are when we are united. When we make God the sole focus of our lives, the kingdom of Hell cannot prevail against us. We are so blessed to have Christ as our Lord and Savior. Because of Him, nothing is too difficult to withstand.

God bless you all. And remember that when you sow into someone's else's life, God sees this and is working on the needs of your life as well. For we reap what we sow.

I agree with Rebecca. The Lord is using this situation with Isaac and Jordan and Patience is a much bigger way. He is uniting Christians to pray and see amazing things. Jesus prayed that we would be one as He is One with the Father. As we minister to Isaac, Jordan and Patience through prayer, we are ministering to each other as we blog and make comments. I also feel the Holy Spirit moving among us as prayer warriors. I will continue to pray for God's will in Isaac's life because He has already shown that it is more than we could ask or think.

It's crowded in worship today
As she slips in
Trying to fade into the faces
The girls' teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know

CHORUS
But if we are the Body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way
There is a way

A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat
And quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgmental glances tells him that his chances
Are better out on the road

CHORUS
But if we are the Body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way

Jesus paid much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the Body of Christ

Chorus (2x)
If we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way
