Still Fighting

Well Isaac continues to baffle the minds of the doctors. For the second time this week, we did not expect him to live through the night, and yet again he is still here. Earlier this morning we got a blood gas report that gave us some better news. His lactate level went from 19 to 12, which is still extremely high (should be between 0-1.2), but it is an improvement. His pH is within the normal range and he is peeing off a lot of fluid, so he looks much better in appearance.

The doctors do not have any definitive answers as to what caused the issues yesterday or last night or his improvement this morning, but we do know he is still very sick and has a long fight in front of him if he is able to live through it all. At this point, we are waiting to get the next blood gas report back to see if we are still moving in the right direction or not.

Patience and I are just taking everything one step at a time. The emotional roller coaster we're on is exhausting, since we never really know what the next minute will bring. Not to mention the exhausting all-nighters we've been pulling this week.

We continue to praise God in the good reports and bad reports, trusting Him with the outcome.

We have been singing all morning long(me and all the kids loud with raised hands walking around the house as we do our normal activities) "How Great Is Our God
Sing with me How Great Is Our God,
And all will see,
How Great, how great is our God..."

I quit reading the last few blogs last night and began joining in chorus with all the responses every time someone put a new prayer or response on your blog. We began focusing all our thoughts on who God is and not one single thought on what was going on with Isaac.

God is so great, and He is working!

Psalm 30:5
...weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Praising and Thanking You Lord that we can rejoice with Jordan, Patience, and little Isaac.

Our family continues to hold the Leinos up before God, praying for yet another miracle in their lives.
In Jesus' Name,

Jordan,
What seems to be baffling the doctors is the Power of Prayer. I will keep praying and stay the course with you and Patience. I pray that all of Isaac's levels continue towards the safe ranges, and that Isaac is able to get the rest that he needs while Jesus heals him.

I pray that you and Patience have the strength that you need, but that you are able to release your burdens to Jesus to where you can find peace and get the rest that you need for yourselves and for Isaac. I believe that Jesus is working on all of you at this time, so keep the faith while we pray for you and with you.

The struggles that you are currently going through makes me think of the poem "Footprints" where the Lord carries you through the tough times. He is with you and Patience at this time working on you and through you both as your faith and commitment to the church during these difficult times has been an inspriration to me.

God Bless You,
Al B.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
His mercies never come to an end.
They are new every morning,
New every morning
Great is Thy faithfulness, oh Lord,
Great is Thy faithfulness.

You may at times, oh Lord bring us sorrow,
But You will never turn us away.
You are love and compassion,
Love and compassion.
Great is Thy faithfulness, oh Lord.
Great is Thy faithfulness.

We love you, and continue to pray...

The Lord is miraculous in all of His ways....imagine the testimony that Isaac will be able to give people all his life. As I was searching the Bible this morning, my eye fell upon this verse - God's promise for all three of you: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine." (Isaiah 43:1)
Jordon, Patience; even though we have never met, you spur me and many others on as we walk with Christ. You have painted a beautiful portrait of perfect love, patience and faith in the Great Healer. I love you all; you are ever in my prayers.

Praise God!!! He is using your family in such a mighty way. There will come a day when Isaac is free from all that binds him and the doctors will have to declare the mighty power of our God. There is none who can heal and comfort like our loving God. Praise be to Him forever and ever!

"Fight the good fight with all thy might;
Christ is thy Strength, and Christ thy Right;
Lay hold on life, and it shall be
Thy joy and crown eternally.

Run the straight race through God’s good grace,
Lift up thine eyes, and seek His face;
Life with its way before us lies,
Christ is the Path, and Christ the Prize.

Cast care aside, upon thy Guide,
Lean, and His mercy will provide;
Lean, and the trusting soul shall prove
Christ is its Life, and Christ its Love.

Faint not nor fear, His arms are near,
He changeth not, and thou art dear.
Only believe, and thou shalt see
That Christ is all in all to thee."

Find Peace in the fact that God is in control! Get some sleep knowing that He is taking care of your sweet baby boy. We are all standing in prayer for you.

Jordan and Patience, Thank you for sharing so much in this blog. It helps the thousands of people who are praying for you to pray very specifically. Though we are not standing the night watches with you in Chapel Hill, you can know that many, many people are being awakened from their sleep to pray for you. So while not there with you, we are standing the night watch where ever we may be. Truly God is hearing about Isaac 24 hours a day. We don't know why Isaac has to suffer, nor why you and Patience have to suffer, but this we do know... God's will is good, and perfect and one day we will know the answers to many questions. You can also know that Isaac is fulfilling a great purpose right now ~ uniting people in prayer in a mighty way. God' hand will move, and Isaac will be healed. In God's time and in God's way. We are praying very hard for that earthly healing. The three of you are amazing, and you are so willing to point all of the glory back to God. He will bless you for that!
With much love,
Patty Honeycutt

so many people call me and ask me every day how the baby is doing, they are so in love with him. No one slept last night and everyone called every hour until you updated. We are praying hard and it is working! Thank you God!

All Praise be to God! He is Wonderful. Thank You Jordan & Patience for taking the time to keep us updated. And Glory to God for the way He's tending to baby Isaac in His time. Our unfailing God is a miraculous Father. I pray He continues to pour down blessings on the three of you each moment of the day. I pray as he provides comfort to sweet Isaac that you two are able to get peaceful rest. I had to run outside (from work) to read my Bible after reading the update - I was lead to Psalms 91; awesome reading of comfort & God being our Protector. And Romans 15:13 .. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
DO know that prayers/thoughts are continually with you all.
I know God is going to answer all the prayers and handle baby Isacc with the utmost care/love that he has for His children. Sometimes it may be tough on us but remember God's wonderful plan he has for each and everyone one of us. And with that remembrance, I pray you all do get the much needed rest. God's big & powerful enough to hold all 3 of you in His arms for comfort and rest as He does His work on Isacc.
Your sister in Christ

I would love to have a candle light pray where every one who can will meet together either at the Mcdonald house or at the church and have songs and prayer just for Issac and Jordan and Patience, all of us together in one location singing and praising God for this little man...what do you say?

God's love is so amazing and He has a plan and purpose for everything that you, Patience, and little Isaac have had to endure. To God be the Glory. Our God is An Awesome God.....We continue to pray without ceasing.

Jordan,
Your title "Still Fighting" is shouting of the miracles God has already done in answer to prayer and there are so many more to come. I pray that you, Patience and Isaac can feel the warriors fighting for you outside the walls of that hospital all around the world. We are an army...God's army. As you await the next report, just know you are loved and there is not a second that goes by that someone isn't "fighting" with you.
Praise GOD for ALL He has done !!!!

It's truly amazing how our God works. We are rejoicing with you in every good report and standing with you in prayer in every concern. God will give you the strength you need as He has these past 5 weeks. Just looking back at your blogs, I am so greatful that we serve a mightly God. He can do all things! He can heal this little boy of yours (and His) even after being at death's door. Only He knows the plans that He has for Isaac. He sure has been a blessing to many in just his short 5 weeks! Go God Go!!!
