Diaphragm Surgery Tomorrow

Isaac will undergo surgery tomorrow afternoon to placate his diaphragm. Basically, the surgeon will go in through Isaac's ribs & stitch down the eventrated (bowed) portion of his diaphragm to where it ought to be. This will allow the diaphragm as a whole to function more efficiently & thus be able to breathe deeply on his own. This will also enable the medical team to better determine whether or not a trach is necessary as it takes the diaphragm issue out of the equation.

So please be praying for our sweet boy tomorrow afternoon! Though this will not be nearly as severe as the open-heart procedure, all surgery carries risk & Isaac is still weak from being so sick. Our prayer is for Isaac to successfully make it through this surgery & then move towards extubation.

Also, Isaac has experienced some difficulties this afternoon. His lactate is now 6.7 & his oxygen saturations have been hanging in the 60's/low 70's. They've increased his oxygen levels slightly to bring up the O2 sats & have stopped his breastmilk feeds for now to see if the lactate will go back down. His nurse will draw another blood gas in a few hours to see how he has responded to these changes. So keep praying..

On a lighter note, today is Jordan's birthday!! My amazing husband is 24 today, so be sure to congratulate him on another awesome year. :)

Have a blessed and happy birthday Jordan! 24! You are 15 years younger than me but have been through so much more in the past 6 weeks than I have in my whole life! You are a wonderful and faithful servant of God - never stop! Your beautiful son is blessed to have such a father (and mother!).

Jordan - you are amazingly mature to be only 24! Thank you for your example of faith and courage through all this. Although I'm sure it's hard to concentrate on your birthday today, all of us who know you - even those of us who only know you through this blog - thank God for you. We trust that Patience will be able to give you a big blow-out birthday next year when everything is well and stable with little Isaac.

Happy Birthday, Daddy J! :) Make sure Patience and Isaac sing to you!

I love all three of you with all of my heart, I thank God for the friendship that we have. Isaac will be in my prayers as he undergoes his surgery tomorrow. Just as God's word says in John 15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you."

God has great things in store for Isaac and I thank Him in advance for healing! :)

I continue to think about you and your family. I have not visited the site in a while and have missed all the hurdles you have overcome in the past few weeks. It is very stressful and my heart goes out to you. I look at the pictures of your little guy and it brings back memories of years ago. I hope nothing but good news from here on out. Good Luck with the surgery tomorrow. I will be looking for an update.

Happy Birthday Jordan! May this day and every day be a "birthday" of celebration. This being as our Almighty God and Saviour continues to build strength and courage to the three of you as still yet the journey is being made and His healings come upon baby Isaac. As God's been doing for the last 6 weeks, may He continue to guide and bless the medical team with their hands/knowledge. As we are already aware & as its been proven even by the "med team" thru their amazement and awe, God is still in control and blessing all with his Amazing Healing Power - Praise You God! Our God is an Awesome God. And not only dpes he continually shows it through his Ultimate, unconditional love but he shows it by providing such great faithful people as the two of you.

Again, Happy Birthday Jordan. Be Blessed & even 24 year olds need rest sometimes so hope its gotten and peaceful. For Patience too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Jordan. You and Patience are amazing. We love you both.

Happy Birthday Jordan,
I,m glad to hear of the improvement in Baby Isaac. I know this morning will be tough, but The Lord will guide all hands that touch Isaac. I put all 3 of you on our prayer list Sunday at church, and I know there are many more people praying for you. Both you and Jordan are a real testament of your faith and the power of our God Almighty!!!!!! I am 41, and have not been able to have children thus far. Sometimes I really get down about it, but I know that God has a plan for me, just like He does for Isaac. Keep the Faith. I will continue to pray for You, Jordan,Isaac, and the medical team.

Heavenly Father,

We come to you today to lay Isaac at your feet again. We pray for a flawless surgery today, and we pray you would prepare his body for extubation. We ask that you would bring his lactate levels down and his O2 levels up. We ask that you would show the doctors and nurses what is causing his lactate and O2 levels to fluctuate so they can address the problem.

Father, we know you are so faithful, and have been these last 6 weeks of Baby Isaac's life. We know you will continue to be, and will take better care of him thatn any doctor. We love you and thank you for all you have done and all you are going to do.

Happy Birthday Jordan!!!

You have so much to celebrate!

I'm believing that God will cause this surgery to correct the issue. As soon as I saw the mention of a trach, I immediately had a rise in my spirit against it.

Isaac is definitely in the hands of the Lord's surgical team. This little guy has been through so much, and has come so far. I know the two of you are extremely appreciative of what God has done for this baby. Also, I believe that the time is close for Isaac to be able to come home with you, completely healed.

Rest assured, you have far too many people praying for this little guy. I keep getting the lyrics of one praise song rolling through my spirit about the power of our prayers. "If one of us can put a thousand to flight, then two of us can send the legions fleeing." One person's prayers can stop the attack of a thousand demons, but two can stop a legion. You have an entire army going to bat for Isaac - HALLELUJAH!!!!!

This baby is so precious. I am so very happy for the both of you.
