Day of Prayer & Fasting

Good morning from Chapel Hill! Our sweet boy has made it through another night & has been wide awake this morning, taking everything in through his beautiful blue eyes. Jordan & I both were able to hold him last night for several hours. What a joy to hold your child & in spite of his severe sickness, see him resting peacefully in your arms. For a moment, he can simply be a child without a care in the world. How we love this sweet boy!

Isaac held steady last night, lactate down to 5. But for unknown reasons, this began to climb again, rising to 13.1 in only 6 hours. However, his pH & CO2 levels have not experienced serious flux. Once again, a curve ball has come our way. The medical team will keep a close watch on his lactate today. They've ordered a repeat abdominal sonogram today in hopes of gaining a better understanding of what's going on with his gut. Also, Isaac's blood sugars continue to be elevated.

We would like to ask all who are able, to join us in praying and fasting on Isaac's behalf today. We so appreciate all the prayers being lifted up for him.

Thank you for the update and the beautiful picture. I printed the picture so that as I pray today I can lay hands on it in place of laying hands on the three of you. How wonderful that you held him for so long last night. It was what he needed as much as what you wanted. You are so loved.

Last night at 10.41pm God had me blow bubbles over my room as i praised God for His own healing hands at work on the inside. Bubbles floated for the baby Isaac, and the COLORS of the rainbow can be seen in the soap bubbles. Just as the rainbow for Noah, Yes the promises of God are Yea and Amen!
Shine forth, Isaac and let laughter come from within your Spirit!

Oh what a beautiful picture. Our heart is joyful and singing praises for the progress being made. But most of all for the time you were able to have holding your precious son in your arms. I'm sure it did you both good and brought Isaac comfort. Thank you for the update and sharing such a special moment. We will continue to pray for total healing.

I cried as I called Gina on the phone to give her this update. Thank you so much for posting that picture. It reminds us that this is not just about a medical condition but a living breathing child. Those eyes looking at Jordan are the eyes of a child looking at his daddy.

I was reminded in my devotion this morning of the value of the one to God. Jesus left the 99 sheep to find the lost one. The woman searches for the one missing coin until she finds it. The father waits for his wayward son.

And with all of the war and poverty in this world, Jesus knows and cares for your little boy, right now.

We are praying and fasting.

I cannot fast due to my own high risk pregnancy and certain things I have to do.

But please know that I am praying for you all so very hard. It touches my heart to see Isaac looking into the eyes of his father. Just as we are looking to OUR Father for comfort and guidance.
Praise God for another day.

Psalm 91

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD,
“He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge -- then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

“Because he loves me,“ says the LORD, ”I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation” (NIV).

It is a beautiful day in our nation's capital -- the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, citizens are enjoying the sights and sounds of Washington. At the same time, trouble mars many places on earth and we are a nation at war. Many important things are being decided here and many important men and women are voting on life and death issues. Yet, God in heaven reigns. And no care of ours is too small to bring before His throne. I am continually amazed that the Creator of the universe turns His face towards us when we call, that He hears us when we cry out. Who are we that God should incline His ear to us or raise His mighty arm on our behalf? Thanks be to Jesus Christ who makes us worthy. There is no greater God than our God, the God who pauses and listens as we cry out on behalf of Isaac, Patience and Jordan. I will join my prayers with yours as I sit at the Jefferson Memorial Tidal Basin and marvel at the beauty He has created. Romans 15:5 Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, 6 that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Pray on, people of God!!

God is doing an awesome work in and through your lives. He definitely has his hand on your handsome Isaac.

Stay strong, get rest when possible and we will continue to hold all 3 of you up in prayer.

Wow!! Words are not adequate to really express that picture. Baby Isaac is alive!! and God is in contol!!

Father we pray today to the creator of the heart and lungs and bowels and stomach and trachea and body tissues and muscles and ligaments and any other body organ... that you would begin to show that you can repair as well as create. I pray that the medical doctors would see miracles like they have never seen before. I pray they see a boy brought back to wholeness from the one who created him. We know that you use medical doctors every day, but we want to see YOU!! We want you to get ALL the glory.

Today we are "walking miles" (as so many did to get to Jesus) to find the only one who can bring everything back to perfect working order inside little Isaac. We are "climbing on top of the house" to lower our "friend" to Jesus the only true healer. We are fasting and praying today because we do believe you can heal. And so we come like so many did in scripture to say, we know you are a busy man, but would go to Chapel Hill today, and heal a little boy named Isaac Leino and make him completely well.

More tears of joy...

Psalm 91:11 "For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways."

God will prove faithful to His promise. He is doing a mighty work in answer to prayers for Isaac.

The work of God is visibly being displayed in this precious baby's life and in the lives of those who know his testimony.

Your family's story has captured my heart and strengthened my faith in our most awesome God and affected my life in ways I could never imagine. As someone that you've never met but is a sister in Christ, I thank you for sharing your lives with us. My young children (5 and 3 years old)love to see the pictures of baby Isaac and have been praying for him at night when they go to bed and asking about him when they wake up in the morning. They are so excited to see the power of God at work here.

Continuing to pray without ceasing for you all.

What a strikingly beautiful and heart touching picture!
I was reading an Alfred Lord Tennyson poem just now and it made me think of you folks. (A lot of things make me think of you these days . . . )
Anyway, here are the 1st 3 stanzas for whenever you feel like a little poetry . . .

Strong Son of God, immortal Love,
Whom we, that have not seen thy face,
By faith, and faith alone, embrace,
Believing where we cannot prove;

Thine are these orbs of light and shade;
thou madest Life in man and brute;
Thou madest Death; and lo, thy foot
Is on the skull which thou hast made.

Thou wilt not leave us in the dust:
Thou madest man, he knows not why,
He thinks he was not made to die;
And thou hast made him: thou art just.

Love,
Kathy

Hey Jordan and family,

I heard about your baby boy from David Leon's wife. I just wanted you to know that our small group is lifting up prayers to God. Benjamin and I have faith that God will use Isaac and all of you to glorify Himself. I have a 9 month old and could only by the grace of God be as strong and as faithful as you and your wife are being during such a trial. But, God works all things out for the good of those who love Him. I will spread the word to anyone and everyone I know to pray for your precious baby boy. May God give you just enough day by day and hour by hour. He is good and He is sufficient!!!

What a beautiful sight to see...ah the love of the Heavenly Father through our earthly parents!
We are praying, fasting and BELIEVING that God will heal your precious son. What a blessing to hold him...words can never express what each second means when you hold your sick child in your arms...blessings for all 3 of you! Hold him, touch him, love him, sing to him, pray over him, talk to him, read to him...everything the staff will let you do! The days we had the most physical contact with our little girl were always her best days!
I bet you all cried precious tears over him while he was so close...healing "rain"! :)
Remember...the physicians have the tools, but GOD has the POWER to heal little Isaac.
Keep the faith...we are holding your family up in prayer!

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.
The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress." Psalm 46:1-5, 7. Praying that He will continue to be your refuge and that you will know His Presence to be more real than anything.

The picture is a precious gift and says more than a million words.

Isaiah 35:3-4
Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you."
May you be strong and do not fear; God is coming to save you.
