CT scan a go!

Isaac had another stable night, getting much needed, peaceful rest. This morning, the medical team thought him ready for another go at the oral contrast necessary for a CT scan. So far, Isaac has shown tolerance to both the oral & IV contrast. The plan is to give him large amounts of fluid so that he can pee off the contrast before it affects his kidneys too much. He has already come back from the scan & now we are waiting for the results from radiology. Hopefully, this will provide the answers we've been looking for. His lactate is up a bit this morning. Also, Isaac has been retaining fluid around his lungs. This afternoon, they will surgically put a drainage tube in place to relieve this fluid pressure.

Once we hear the results of the CT scan, we will let you know. Thank you all for your continued prayers & support for our sweet boy. Let's pray that we find some answers this afternoon!

Patience & Jordan,
The doctors may not yet know what is going on with Isaac's gut, but the Divine Physician does. He knows exactly what Isaac needs to be healed. We will continue to pray! The Lord is the Lord of all and He is in charge. "Be still and know that I am God." Be at peace and rest! All is truly well with your soul. I love you guys!
You have no idea how many people in Maryland have been touched by your family's story. Aunt Maureen

We are thrilled that Isaac has had yet another peaceful night of sleep. Both you and that little one have needed this. He has come through so well thus far, and will continue to do so.

We are praying God's Word over his condition. The Great Physician is still doing a mighty work in his little body. All his organs and bodily fluids will begin to function normally in no time at all.

We are looking so forward to the day when you bring baby Isaac to church. I know there will be a ton of people crowded around you to see and hold that little one. Just be patient with us ok? LOL.

He is healed - praise GOD for the victory!!!!!

Praise the Lord...... for the continued improvements, no matter how small, and for the needed rest and reassurance for all of you. We will continue to pray for the three of you - for strength, peace, knowledge, for the doctors and nurses and for friends and family. I agree, when you return to C3, it will be for a fantastic celebration. We're so looking forward to that.

Psalm 139 says "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well."

Isaac is truly "fearfully and wonderfully made" to be able to withstand all that has been done to his tiny body. I continue to pray.

I pray that you continue keeping your healing hand on Isaac. I thank You for your continual blessings that you so abundantly are giving to the Leino family. Your love is ever merciful. Thank You for the faith the Leino's are showing to all as they follow your guidance in the daily episodes of this journey. Heavenly Father,
We thank you for another small victory!! We now pray for a clear understanding of what is going on iside of Baby Isaac. We pray that you would protect every organ and vessel and tissue from the fluids and dyes they needed to do the CT scan. We ask that you would remove the excess fluid from his lungs, and continue the healing work you are doing inside him.

We pray for Jordan and Patience to get their needed rest and to keep them healthy during all this.

We thank you Jesus that you went before us... that you willingly died on a cross for us...that there is no situation too hard for you, and that you want to use us to share this with the world.

Psalm 31:24, "Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD."

Thank God the CT scan was finally able to be run. We will be praying for good results and answers to all the questions. May God's Hand continue to be on Isaac and your family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Isaac’s determination and strength is a testament of the grace of God. How else could anyone withstand what this child has been through and continue to fight. God is building Isaac’s testimony as a means of winning souls for the Kingdom. You are in our prayers, and we will lift Isaac in prayer tonight at our Connect Group.

May God Bless you and continue to provide you with comfort. I am so glad that Isaac had a peaceful night. I pray that you two are able to get some peaceful rest as well.

On a side note, Jordan have you gotten a Gator's championship shirt yet?

J & P - let us praise God together! It sounds like perhaps Isaac is on the upswing and our prayers for his healing are being answered. Even the abdominal problems that still remain - God can touch him in that area and restore all health either supernaturally or 'naturally', either way I'm praying today for healing for his entire body. One or both of you two must be medically trained to know all the terminology. Or maybe just this experience has trained you in medical terminology!

sorry about the end of my last comment... I was just noting the two terms I had not understood yesterday. I will have to be learning all those terms too as Julie's little Ethan is born w/ HLHS in August. You guys are such a wonderful example of faith and perseverance for Julie & Dan (and all us extended family). I pray we can be as strong as you two have been through all this.

Looks as if this blog has not only been a blessing for the Leino family, it has also served as a way of extending out to other families facing the same issues.

I have seen a lady by the name of Jenna on the last report mention her four month old son PJ being in PICU at Duke. Now Rhonda has mentioned that parents by the name of Julie and Dan have a baby due in August with HLHS.

We need to include these families in our prayers also. I only hope that we will have a way of monitering their progress as well as we have Isaac's.

I encourage these families to provide more information, as well as some sort of contact information (i.e.- blog) so we can keep you lifted up in prayer and encouraged too.

It is always awesome to see God at work. He loves children so dearly and wants nothing more than to have a place in their lives.

We pray that the ct scan will give the doctors more knowledge of how to help Isaac. We are all anxiously waiting with you. We get to see Jordan now and then at c3, but Patience, we miss you dearly.
Your voice and your love for the Lord are so inspiring. I pray for you to have the strength you need for Isaac. How precious time is.
May God bless the three of you.

Praise God for every victory, no matter how small it may seem to an onlooker, each tiny step is such a blessing for little Isaac. I am so amazed by his strength every day. I can only surmise that the love of the Father, demonstrated through the love of his parents, touches him every moment and gives him such strength.
I pray still, that there will be healing, and that in all things His will will be done. That is hard for me to say as I have not had such great faith. But I have seen that its possible through you, and I have hope.

God continues to show us daily he loves us, and is awesome! Thank you Jesus for the peaceful nights of rest and the bonding happening between Isaac, Jordan and Patience. Thank you for the prayers and glory being given to you through this church body (both near and far). This family is such a light of faithfulness for others and we are all so blessed to see your miracles through the loving eyes of your servants. Please continue, Father God, to heal little Isaac, and provide emotional and physical strength for Jordan and Patience through each new day. Continue working with the doctors and nurses, as they work not only with Isaac, but with the other little children currently in your care. We love you God!

Peace be with you Jordan and Patience!

Hello, I am Jenna Burja. I'm from RVR I met your sister Corrine as my counselor. My sister and I became very close with your sister and we even became the best of friends with her. She helped save my sister and I and I just can't thank her enough for that I don't know what I would have done without her. I remeber it like it was yesterday when you and your husband came to visit her. She came running up to me screaming full of excitement "Jenna, Jenna I'm gonna be an Aunt." At this point, I was so excited, I yelled and jumped up and down with her. I felt like I was apart of your family weird I know and especially for a sixteen year old teenager living away telling you this. You're so strong a=in your faith you have all encouraged me. I just want to say thank you. Oh by the way, my Mother is now officially divorced and our Fatheris not allowed to have any contact with us. Not to forget, I know you're going through a rough time and when I'm going through a rough time, I say the Lord's Prayer and also my favorie the Serenity Prayer that my Grandmother taught to me when I was younger. God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can and Wisdom to know the difference. Just to let you know, ever since I found out of your's and your son's conditions, my mom and I have been praying for you and still are.
