CT Results & A Collapsed Lung

The results from the CT scan are in: Isaac's GI tract is looking great w/no signs of eschemia or necrosis. There is a large amount of fluid being third spaced to surround his gut, though we're not sure why. His spleen showed some signs of eschemia which we already knew of & does not pose any problems at this time. So good news that Isaac's gut is healthy, but no further answers as to what is causing his continued lactate flux cycle. While we're thrilled that his lactate is no longer in double digits, 7 is still very high as normal ranges between 0 & 1.2. So the search continues.

During Isaac's morning X-ray, they checked his lungs to discover that his left lung has collapsed. This may be the result of accumulated mucus plugs within the lung, though we're not certain. Some non-invasive therapy will be done through tomorrow in hopes of opening his lung back up. If not, they will do a bronchoscopy tomorrow to image what is closing his lung & remove the problem.

Another concern for tomorrow is IV access. Isaac's only access port right now is the Broviac line. Due to the meds needed at this time, he will need another IV port put in place. However, this may be difficult as several access points are no longer patent. So please pray that they are able to successfully find access within the next few days.

Another day down, many more to go. Rest well, sweet Isaac. You've got a big day tomorrow...

Patience and Jordan,

Isaac has come too far. Prayers and praises for what God has done already will continue on his behalf. This little guy has been through a lot, but God will be faithful to bring him out of all of this.

Thank you for keeping everyone updated.

Oh Father & Great Healer,
Thank you for another day; for finding some good things; for his GI tract looking good, for no signs of ischemia or necrosis. You have been faithful in so many things we have asked. We come to you again still to ask for more answers and more healing.

We pray that his collapsed lung would open up without much intervention. We pray for an IV port for any medication needed. We pray for the fluid around his gut to go down and for his lactate to be back in normal range. We pray for more answers so the doctors can perfectly address all his needs.

Lord you know all things, and your ways are perfect, but we also know you are a compassionate merciful God, and we continue to ask for miraculous healing.

Jordan & Patience, I'm not sure how you handle this day to day... well I do know how you handle it (only with the Lord), but human nature has to be hard to fight back. May you rest in Him tonight to prepare for another day. We will not stop praying and interceding for you and Baby Isaac.

Isaiah 41:13, "For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'"

We are so thrilled with the good report about Isaac's gut. I pray that the Lord will reveal what is causing His lung to collapse and that be corrected easily. We pray for a supernatural touch from God so that another IV port is available. Thank you for keeping us posted. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

1 Peter 5:7, "...casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."

Jordan and Patience,
The CT scan news is great! I pray that the 3 of you continue to get the rest you need, so that you can continue to faithfully get through each day as God continues to work through each of you.

Thanks for the continued updates. Holly, Trey, Aaron, and I will continue to pray for Isaac's lung, lactate levels to drop to normal range, and for the excessive fluid around his gut to disappear.

God Bless You All,

Dear Leino family,

I am so thrilled to wake up this morning and see the good news of his gut. I also pray that all fluid will be reduced and that his lung will miraculously open back up (even if it is with medical intervention). I also pray that there will be an easy access point for the medication.

I love the pictures. God is awesome. My prayers continue.

Thank you for the update. God IS healing Isaac! I believe it with all my heart. Claim it. And don't ever give up believing it.
Sing praise music to your son! I know it will be wonderful music to his ears.
Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almightly, who was and is and is to come. With all creation I sing, praise to the King of Kings, you are my everything, and I will adore you!
I'm praying today for Isaac, P & J, and wisdom for the doctors and nurses treating Isaac.
Everything is going to be alright!

Wonderful news! Thanks for updating the blog as we must check it dozens of times each day! We will continue to lift Isaac up in prayer today as he travels another hurdle in his little life. We are claiming his victory and know that the Great Physician is at his side. Our connect group prayed for Isaac last night as we have done together each week. You three have touched the lives of so many with your bold testimony of faithfulness and love. You are not in this alone. Rest assured that hundreds are lifting Isaac up each day. The power of prayer will continue to bring Isaac closer to coming home. We love you guys and will be there with you today in our hearts. Lynn & Ronnie

What amazing news. I am so relieved and full of praise that Isaac's insides aren't dying as previously thought. I'm thankful for another day of rest for him. And I will pray for another strong day, a peaceful day, and a successful day for the doctors.

We know the Great Physician is on the job. There is no better doctor on Isaac's side than Him.

It is so awesome as belivers, in the midst of hard times, even recelebrating Christs death on the cross, we can rejoice- because WE KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY. Jesus always wins. Rest assured and have a great Easter weekend.

Baby Isaac,
As I sit here on Good Friday reading John Piper's " Fifty Reasons Why Jesus Came To Die" and reflect on Isaiah 53 what strikes me is that we are seeing in your little life the miracle of what Jesus accomplished 2000 years ago. Jesus death and resurrection was for the healing of your soul as well as your tiny body. You are made in the image and likeness of the Most High. Jesus, through His Holy Spirit,is right there with you and your Mom and Dad at every step along the path that God has ordained for your life. What the enemy has meant for bad, God is already using for great good by demonstrating how he cares for the least of these now matter what comes into your life path.
All for Your Glory Father God!
Jesus is Risen, Halleluia!

The CT results are sooooo encouraging! I myself checked the computer dozens of times to hear; I can't imagine what the wait must have been like for you.
Only God knows what his little body has to go through in order to be healed. Sometimes Jesus would heal people with a word, but there was a blind guy who had scales fall off his eyes! (What would doctors have made of that?) And another who saw trees walking around before he saw straight! Each of these unexplained things may be parts of a long, complicated healing process.
I picture all three of your hearts in the palm of his hand, where he caresses, messages, breathes, and supports humanly unsustainable rhythm.
Love,
Kathy

This hymn helps convey what I am reflecting upon today on this Good Friday and what I have been feeling for the Leino family.

The Healing Fountain - Carl A. Stenholm

"There's a fountain flowing
From the Savior's side;
Life and health bestowing,
Since for man he died.

And the Word declareth,
Bathing there is free;
Who is he that dareth
Hinder you and me?

Heav'nly balm it poureth
Into hearts that grieve;
Gladness it restoreth
When earth's comforts leave.

Oft my heart was sinking
"Neath the load I bore;
Kneeling here, and drinking,
I was strong once more.

By its murm'ring waters
I lie down each night;
When my courage totters
It renews my might."

On Good Friday, we remember that our Lord's death has brought us real life.

As I reflect on the price that Jesus paid for my sin, I thank him most humbly and gratefully that the work of salvation is done. May we trust in that complete and sufficient work. We are powerless by ourselves and depend completely on Him for he is all we need. May our lives be full of praise and thankfulness in Christ's victory on the cross.

As I have been praying for the Leino family, I have come to realize the magnitude of their circumstances - how God is using their precious son, Isaac, covered in the banner of His love, for His good and perfect purposes. So much trust and faith must be put into God at this time that to me it sometimes seems unfathomable and impossible. But, just like Abraham who completely trusted God with his son Isaac, we are seeing this profound faith and trust lived out in this family. This is what it means to glorify God and He has showered His grace upon them to enable them to do so. They have been called to make God look like what He really is. What an example of how we are meant to image forth in the world what God is really like and the worth of His presence. God is glorified in life most visibly by the way we experience Him in our trials. Suffering has made clear for our souls that God is the only treasure who endures forever. We trust God more when all we have seems stripped away and by this He is glorified. It has brought me to my knees often throughout these past weeks. I have gone deeper with God as a result.

God, I pray for the Leino's that with the hopes, fears and hard days to come, our faithful Shepherd will feed them, lead them, hold them, and guide them. Minute by minute drawing them closer to You, their trust and faith growing clearer and their love stronger. Give them grace to rejoice in every pleasure, every gift and pain, for Christ is our only treasure. Be with them as they kneel and drink from the fountain flowing from our Savior's side. May it give them the strength, trust, joy, faith and endurance they will need to march on faithfully, glorifying you all the way.

May their trial work the hope of the glory of You, Lord, in them and all those who are praying around the world and cause us to exult in the cross of Christ.

May we see Your glory more and more each day in their lives for there is joy in seeing your greatness and if we must suffer to see this we know it is because You are a merciful God and this call from You to bear our cross is love. The cost of love is always worth it and faith is the victory that overcomes the world.

I continue to pray for healing for Isaac and comfort and strength for Patience and Jordan.

I pray this in your Son's most precious and holy name. Amen

Issac, I feel like God is showing us, History, History is repeating, only in a way to show us now in our time, what happen in their time. Jesus is coming soon, Issac is helping to bring the bible alive to me. He is older then I am with all he has been through, touched more people and helped them to christ. When I grow up I want to be like Issac. Thank you God for your son and thank you Leinos for your son. I love you

Sitting at work early last week, my boss received an email, "Please Pray". As I checked her email to my surprise was an email in reference to your SWEET Baby Boy. It asked her to join the prayer chain for Isaac, (even though she doesn't attend C3 or know you). I am proud to work for a Christian lady and we ALL have joined in along with our Corporate Chaplain with continued prayers for Baby Isaac. My co-worker and I regularly attend C3, follow Baby Isaac's Blog and will continue to lift him up in prayer! God Bless you all! We wish you love, faith and God's healing!

Dear Patience and Jordan,
The words of this college hymn where I went to school (Covenant College) remind me of how you both are living out your faith by God's grace. I'm so thankful that you have been able to cling to the promises of Jesus through this journey, and I know it is because of God's grace to you. I praise Him for that gift to you. And most of all I'm so thankful for sweet baby Isaac's progress.

ALL FOR JESUS BY Mary D. James

All for Jesus, all for Jesus!
All my being’s ransomed powers:
All my thoughts and words and doings,
All my days and all my hours.

All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
All my days and all my hours;
All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
All my days and all my hours.

Let my hands perform His bidding,
Let my feet run in His ways;
Let my eyes see Jesus only,
Let my lips speak forth His praise.

All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
All my days and all my hours;
All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
All my days and all my hours.

Worldlings prize their gems of beauty,
Cling to gilded toys of dust,
Boast of wealth and fame and pleasure;
Only Jesus will I trust.

All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
All my days and all my hours;
All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
All my days and all my hours.

Since my eyes were fixed on Jesus,
I’ve lost sight of all beside;
So enchained my spirit’s vision,
Looking at the Crucified.

All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
All my days and all my hours;
All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
All my days and all my hours.

Oh, what wonder! How amazing!
Jesus, glorious King of kings,
Deigns to call me His belovèd,
Lets me rest beneath His wings.
